On Friday, August 7, 2015, at approximately 6:00 A.M., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team (S.W.A.T.) and the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CVVCGTF) served a weapons related search warrant within the 30-700 block of Calle Jessica, in the unincorporated community of Thousand Palms.
During the service of the search warrant numerous weapons were located within the residence. Deputies located a total of ten firearms and several high-capacity magazines. As a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Thousand Palms resident, Osvaldo Perez, was arrested for possession of an assault rifle, possession of high-capacity magazines, and possession of a short barreled rifle. Perez was booked into the Riverside County jail in the city of Indio.Guns
