Air Rescue Crew 306 respond to a vehicle down an embankment, 2 persons injured and perform a hoist rescue

On Sunday, August 9, 2015, Air Rescue 306 crew was dispatched to assist CAL-FIRE on a traffic accident where the vehicle left the roadway on Oak Glen Rd., north of Wildwood Canyon, and down an embankment approximately 100 feet. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Michael Kramer and Richard Freck. Kramer was ejected and sustained injuries. Freck was also injured and had to be extracated from the vehicle. Both victims were stabilized by ground emergency personnel to prepare them to be hoisted.

Air Medic Steve Miller was hoisted down to place Kramer into a litter. Kramer was subsequently hoisted up and immediately transported by Air Rescue 306 to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Freck was hoisted by Cal Fire Helicopter 301 and transferred to an awaiting AMR ambulance. Freck was transported by ground ambulance to Loma Linda Medical Center for injuries sustained from the accident.
