1 dead, 1 wounded in Apple Valley shooting

A man was killed and another wounded in a double-shooting Thursday night in Apple Valley, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said Friday.

Deputies from the Apple Valley station were called out to an apartment near Nisqually and Lakota roads just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday for a shooting, reports indicate. Inside the residence, authorities found two wounded men.

Both were taken to hospitals, but Julian Kilgore, 23, died about an hour later, according to a sheriff’s report. The second man, Richard Fenton, 21, is expected to survive, officials said.

Homicide detectives were at the scene investigating the circumstances around the shooting. A motive has not been released.
