Troy Banks, the confrontation erupted about 2 a.m. Sunday at the Luxor Hookah Lounge at 1450 University Ave., a few blocks north of the UC Riverside campus.<\/p>\n<p>Banks said the victims were pounced on by six to 10 men in their 20s after unspecified words were exchanged.<br \/>\nWitnesses called 911, and officers arrived moments later, but by that time, the aggressors had dispersed and could not be located.<\/p>\n<p>According to Banks, the three injured bar patrons were transported to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne victim is listed in critical condition,\u2019\u2019 the sergeant said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the other two men had \u201dsignificant injuries\u2019\u2019 but none were life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Rick Cobb at (951) 353-7135, or Detective Rick Wheeler at (951) 353-7134.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Riverside police were attempting to identify assailants who attacked three men at a Riverside bar, nearly killing one of the victims.
